Round-up of Friendlies: Arsenal beat Watford four times, Spurs beat MK Dons and Leicester loses at Wycombe


Arsenal defeated Watford by 4-1 in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Wednesday. This was the second win this week.

Arsenal's lead was given to Eddie Nketiah by Willian, who received Willian's brilliant through ball. It was inserted low from the box into the far corner. Watford scored equal after Mohamed Elneny was taken in possession. Philip Zinckernagel then leveled the score from close range. Mikel Arteta brought in Hector Bellerin and Nicolas Pepe at half-time. This energized the Gunners. Lacazette scored his penalty for 2-1 after Ainsley Maitland–Niles was fouled inside the box. After signing his new contract, Emile Rowe was a key player in Arsenal's third. He helped Kieran Tierney score a half-volley to the back of the net. Miguel Azeez completed the scoring by shifting the ball onto the left foot of the box and curling into the top corner.

Spurs win: Alli wins against the former side

Dele Alli scored against his old club, as Tottenham beat MK Dons 3-1. This was to keep their unbeaten preseason. MK Dons' Matt O'Riley was saved an early penalty by Alfie Whiteman. Spurs' Heung-Min Son scored a goal to make it 2-0, after Franco Ravizzoli's brilliant work.

Leicester beaten, Leeds held at Blackburn

Wycombe, a League One side, beat Leicester 1-0 at Adams Park. Daryl Horgan scored the only goal with 14 minutes left. Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds played in an entertaining 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers. Connor McBride scored for the hosts in the 73rd minutes, before Pascal Struijk equalized with nine minutes remaining. Positive Covid-19 results led to both Aston Villa's friendly match with Nottingham Forest and Norwich against Coventry being canceled.
